Carson City, Nevada USA April 2008 Dúo Kantu Machu Picchu presents music from Latin America with an emphasis on the Andes and Perú. Based in Northern Nevada during their US tours, they have shared their music with more than 19,000 students of all ages in schools, universities, libraries and other venues throughout Nevada and California. Dúo Kantu presenta música de la región de los Andes y del Perú además de folklore latinomericano. Con el norte de Nevada como su base durante sus tours a los Estados Unidos, han compartido su música con más de 19,000 estudiantes en escuelas de todos los niveles, universidades, bibliotecas y en otros escenarios en Nevada y California.
The Instruments/Los Instrumentos Among the instruments played, explained and shown at "Duo Kantu" school presentations are: charango (including chillador, normal charango and ronroco), quena (including the Andean flutes quenacho and quenilla), zampoñas (pan flutes in their different sizes called chili, malta, bastos and toyo), tarkas, the chacchas (goat hoof percussion instruments), rain stick, pututo horn, ocarinas, bombo (drum), guitar, mandolin and Peruvian cajón. Entre los instrumentos tocados, explicados y mostrados en las presentaciones escolares son: la quena (incluyendo el quenacho y las quenillas), las zampoñas (chili, malta, bastos y toyos), tarkas, el charango (chillador, charango normal y ronroco), el bombo, las chacchas, el palo de lluvia, pututo, ocarinas, las maracas, guitarra, mandolina y cajón peruano.
